Matthew Ibrahim is an experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach and Licensed Manual Therapist, after having spent the past decade in a wide variety of athletic performance and sports rehabilitation settings. A highly sought-after coach and therapist for healthy and injured athletes alike, Matthew has worked with clients from all walks of life, including the likes of youth and high school sports, collegiate and professional athletes, powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting athletes, and competitive age-division endurance athletes.

He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise and Health Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Boston, in addition to earning his License in Massage Therapy degree at the Cortiva Institute. Prior to that, he completed an internship at the world-renowned Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning facility, along with completing a clinical internship at Bay State Physical Therapy. Throughout Matthew’s career he has placed a strong emphasis on personal development, having been certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (PES, CPT), the USA Weightlifting Association (USAW), and the USA Track and Field Association (USATF). He focuses on a movement-based approach while working with athletes, clients and patients, using sound methodologies and principles through his formal training in FMS, SFMA, PRI, EXOS, AMTA, and StrongFirst.

As a hybrid coach and therapist at both Boston Physical Therapy & Wellness (Medford, MA) and Boston Underground Strength Training (Waltham, MA), Matthew has the unique ability to provide elite-level coaching and soft tissue treatment for his athletes. This dual-credentialed status, coupled with his recent athletic endeavors on the powerlifting platform (1,130 total), demonstrates his ability to walk the walk and speak the same language as his athletes and weightlifters. As a healthcare provider for the Clinical Athlete global network database, he understands the necessary rigors of training for sport and performance.

Matthew created Movement Resilience, a blog geared toward enhancing the fields of human movement and athletic performance through educational content and professional speaking engagements. His work has been featured in major fitness publications, such as Breaking Muscle, the CrossFit Journal, Juggernaut Training Systems, Lifehacker, ReebokONE, Sports Rehab Expert, STACK, and The Personal Trainer Development Center. He has been a guest speaker at EXOS at Google HQ, The Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention, and Undergraduate Exercise Physiology and Doctorate-level Physical Therapy programs in the New England region. Additionally, he teaches the educational Hip Hinge 101 Workshop alongside his colleague, Dr. Zak Gabor, which has been presented in MA, CT, NH, NY, RI, and CO.
